But it is not of concern to me any more as I decided to cease clinical work entirely when I attained the age of 65 in December 2012. This was not so much because of the GMC's views on the moral behaviour of doctors, but the crass introduction of the revalidation process. I too was a GP educator of long experience, but revalidation works quite contrary to effective life-long learning in my view.Dr Henry Tegnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09066781800926576413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4149957315810348152.post-73647585619848086442012-01-31T23:59:20.684+00:002012-01-31T23:59:20.684+00:00I'm intending to cover some of the issues you ...I'm intending to cover some of the issues you raise in subsequent posts. In times gone past this would have involved a good ticking off from the medical/nursing director as no patients were affected and no harm done not suspension

What happens if the GMC decide that they need to investigate such cases, remember their processes are far from swift and the impact on those going through proceedures is significant.

The fear amongst doctors is the impact that such investigations have and would it always be proportional in the future. For me the wording remains too vague.James Queketthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01650155296071172960noreply@blogger.com
